Purpose and Benefits of Classical Feng Shui in Homes

Saturday, 04 April 2009 00:00;

Classical Chinese Feng Shui originally, was used by the ruling classes to order their civic world: in the design of city layouts, imperial palaces and individual buildings. One particular branch was used especially to position temples. This same system of feng shui dominated when choosing auspicious locations for graves.

Today its uses are a little more mundane. However, feng shui still has an important role to play in the finding of auspicious locations for buildings such as our homes, commercial premises and industrial plants.

Amongst the many benefits that can be gained by applying the principles of Classical Chinese feng shui into the design of new residential buildings are:

  • Specific design factors which enhance the overall smoothness of human relationships for those occupying the building. (An example of this might be a family that has smooth relationships, a strong sense of family and is very harmonious.)
  • Specific design factors which enhance the health and general well being of human relationships for those occupying the home. (An example of this might be consistently good health and few accidents causing injuries amongst family members).
  • Specific design factors which enhance the financial wellbeing of both the family as a whole and the individual members.

Conversely, for buildings with poor feng shui, there are a myriad of effects which can be attributed to the feng shui: A simple list of such effects might include:

  • A family that in-spite of working hard simply cannot make enough money for their day to day lives and consequently are always struggling financially.
  • A family that is able to generate good finances but unaccountably cannot save money.
  • A family/individual that suffers either a chronic or acute illness that arose unexpectedly within three months of moving to a new home.
  • Poor study and school results in otherwise bright and active children/students.

In addition there can be numerous factors which feng shui may trigger from time to time. They are not all immediately calamitous and may easily be overlooked when considering feng shui as a cause.

Three simple examples are:

  • Unexplained stomach and digestive problems
  • Burglaries and break-ins
  • Unexpected arguments and conflict amongst people who are normally able to maintain harmonious relationships.
  • Fires in the building
