2014 - The Days

The Days:

An explanation posted daily, which describes the day in terms of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches with some information from the traditional Xia calendar as to the nature of the day and what kind of day it is.

Recommendations for the day may be given, depending on the day
The Ruler of the Day will be given
The Flying Star of the Day will be given

In some instances although the day may ordinarily be considered auspicious for particular activities, on that day it may not be. This will be due in most cases to the San Sha effect. You will need to contact Feng Shui Consultants New Zealand if you wish to choose optimum dates in advance and to avoid the negative influences of the San Sha.

The Flying Star of the Day is 9

2nd January, Thursday: Yin Water Rooster (Metal)
The Ruler of the Day is Harvest; a day deemed positive in most respects, especially for trading and making a business deal, so of course, at this time of year, retailers may still be doing well! It’s also a good day to get married on.

4th January, Saturday: Yin Wood Pig (Water)
The Ruler of the Day is Closing, a day with generally poor energies and so suitable for burials and completions but not for much else. As such, and with the day being a day of the pig, one must take extra care with water bound activities today.

5th January, Sunday: Yang Fire Rat (Water)
The Ruler of the Day is Establish; a day which has the same earthly branch as the month (Rat/Rat). It’s a positive day in general but due to the fire water aspect which is a relationship of conflict rather than production, it will pay for drivers returning from their holidays away to drive carefully and with patience. The emotion that accompanies water is fear, whereas fire brings impatience.

6th January, Monday: Yin Fire Ox (Earth)
The Ruler of the Day is Fulfil, a day generally considered to be a positive and lively day. Good for getting married, travelling and cleaning the house.
Yesterday saw the start of the last month of the year; the month of the Yin Wood Ox.

7th Jan, Tuesday: Yang Earth Tiger (Wood)
The Ruler of the Day is Removal. As always with this day it’s a good day to get rid of pests and small illnesses. It’s normally deemed a good day for weddings however, as a girl would leave her father’s home and become a member of her husband’s clan on this day.

12th January, Sunday: Yin Water Goat (Earth)
The Ruler of the Day is Clash. This clash is formed by the Day of the Goat clashing with the Month of the Ox. Clash days are ideal for moving house and other such ‘movements’ but one must take care physically not to get injured when doing so.
The Flying Star of the Day is 2.

13th January, Monday: Yang Wood Monkey (Metal)
The Ruler of the Day is Danger. Not a warning for danger in general, but rather it signifies physical danger if participating in activities which are inherently risky. The advice is to avoid dangerous sports, driving fast both on both land and water.
The Flying Star of the Day is 3.

The Flying Star of the Day is 5.

16th January, Thursday: Yin Fire Pig (Water)
The Ruler of the Day is Opening, a day usually said to be of prosperous and lively spirit. However, the water of the Pig is in a negative relationship with the fire of the day and so the day may not be so harmonious.
The Flying Star of the Day is 6.

17th January, Friday: Yang Earth Rat (Water)
The Ruler of the Day is Closing, a day with generally poor energies and so suitable for burials and completions but not for much else. As such, and with the day being a day of the Rat, one must take extra care with water bound activities today.

Those born with the sign of the Goat in their Four Pillars however, are in Clash against the Ox today.

19th January, Sunday: Yang Metal Tiger (Wood
The Ruler of the Day is Removal. As always with this day it’s a good day to get rid of pests and small illnesses. It’s normally deemed a good day for weddings however, as a girl would leave her father’s home and become a member of her husband’s clan on this day.

The Flying Star of the Day is 3.

23rd January, Thursday: Yang Wood Horse (Fire)
The Ruler of the Day is Control; generally a day perceived to have good energies and so positive for gaining status and power in whatever you are doing. Since today also has the same Heavenly Stem (Yang Wood) and Earthly Branch (Horse) as the incoming year, it is often said today can be taken as an example of what we might expect from the coming year. Observe events today as in indicator or the wood horse year for 2014.
The Flying Star of the Day is 4.

24th January, Friday: Yin Wood Goat (Earth)

The Flying Star of the Day is 8.

28th January, Tuesday: Yin Earth Pig (Water)
The Ruler of the Day is Opening, a day usually said to be of prosperous and lively spirit. As earth is deemed the power element or boss of the Pig those with earth as their personal elements will find it a good day for making money. The Ruler of the Day is Closing, a day with generally poor energies and so suitable for burials and completions (tidying up work and projects is good) but not for starting new ones. The Ruler of the Day is Fulfil, a day generally considered to be a positive and lively day. Good for getting married, travelling and cleaning the house but not this day. Insects and plants and hibernating animals start to wake up from their long winter slumbers and become lively again. Farmers consider this the day that marks the start of their annual work and so like to get some planting done today. They look for a fine and sunny day as an omen of a good harvest to come. (My old book notes, it’s not good to beat or sell children today! How times have changed.)
